Football match tickets: buying safely in the UK

Separate a match ticket from a stadium tour and check the seller before you pay.

01

Start with the club

For Premier League matches, use the club’s official ticket office or a partner named on the club’s own website. Membership, ballots, sales windows and availability vary by club. Read the conditions before paying for membership; it may not secure a ticket for your chosen game.

02

Check packages and seating

A hospitality or hotel package does not by itself prove that the seller is authorised. The Premier League warns that unauthorised tickets can be invalid and entry refused. Check the seller with the club, seat location, home or away section, age rules and what the package includes.

03

Keep travel plans flexible

Check the fixture with the club before arranging travel and again before departure, because dates and kick-off times can change. A stadium tour is a separate experience and does not include a live match unless explicitly stated. Tour access may also differ on match days.

Before you book

Keep the club’s confirmation and check the current mobile-ticket or ID instructions. Never treat a resale listing or a familiar marketplace name as proof of authorisation.
