Explore wedding venues, cars, buses, boats and trusted starting points for finding suppliers. Build a shortlist, then ask the people behind each place about your date and plans.
A reception venue, an event-hire permission and a legal ceremony approval are different things. Confirm the rules with the registrar or officiant for the nation where you will marry.
England: venue hire and the legal ceremony
For a civil marriage, choose a register office or a venue approved by the local council. A registrar must conduct or attend the ceremony, and at least two witnesses are required. Confirm the venue and registrar together.
Check current approval with the local authority; the national approved-premises list can lag behind local changes.
Permission to hire a garden, square or building does not by itself make it an approved civil ceremony venue.
Give notice and check eligibility, documents and any immigration requirements using the official guide before committing to a date.
Check that the exact space and ceremony type are suitable, and arrange the registrar or authorised celebrant and legal paperwork.

An unusual London idea
Berkeley Square Gardens, Mayfair
Wedding use requires confirmation
Could you hold a wedding celebration in Berkeley Square? Westminster lists the square in its 2026 event-hire fee schedule, so there is an official enquiry route. That listing does not confirm that your wedding can take place there.
Ask the council’s events team whether your proposed reception or celebration is acceptable, who must give landowner permission, and which dates and conditions apply. Do this before committing to suppliers or paying deposits.
We have not verified Berkeley Square Gardens as an approved civil marriage venue. Event permission alone does not authorise a legal wedding ceremony. For England and Wales, approved outdoor ceremony spaces must be within the grounds of a building with an identified indoor ceremony room. Ask Westminster’s registration service about your exact plans; a separate legal ceremony may be needed.
Describe the date, guest numbers and whether you want a ceremony, reception or symbolic celebration.
Ask about structures, catering, alcohol, music, access, toilets, insurance, security and restoring the gardens.
Request the full cost, including preparation and removal days, application charges and any additional permissions. The published location fee is not a wedding-package price.

Before you bookThe civil-ceremony-only Nash option is listed for Monday–Thursday. Cambridge Cottage is unavailable from 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2027 for refurbishment. Ask Kew which package and reception arrangements suit your date.
Licences & permissionsArrange the legal ceremony with Richmond Register Office alongside Kew's venue team. A venue enquiry does not reserve the date or a registrar; confirm your specific space and package.
A city-centre castle with decorated historic rooms and grounds for wedding photographs. Its wedding programme includes ceremonies, receptions and wedding breakfasts, with different spaces suited to different parts of the celebration.
Before you bookCompare the castle's room-by-room wedding options before requesting a proposal. Ask about the ceremony, meal and dancing spaces, catering arrangements, access, setup time and whether the full itinerary can use your chosen rooms.
Licences & permissionsThe official room guide identifies licensed ceremony spaces; not every room serves the same purpose. Confirm the chosen room and registrar availability before paying a deposit.
Ceremony and reception spaces within Edinburgh's landmark fortress, with views over the city. Options range from the Queen Anne Building to the intimate Gatehouse Suite and St Margaret's Chapel.
Before you bookWeddings cannot be held from 1 June to 30 September. Ask the events team about autumn, winter and spring dates. The Gatehouse Suite is reached by a spiral staircase, so discuss guests' access needs.
Licences & permissionsCivil, religious and humanist ceremonies may use the Queen Anne Room and Gatehouse Suite; St Margaret's Chapel hosts religious ceremonies only. Confirm an authorised celebrant or registrar separately.
A castle wedding venue with gardens and views towards Belfast Lough. Belfast City Council offers wedding rooms, packages and hospitality information, providing a useful starting point for planning the ceremony and celebrations.

Licences & permissionsBelfast Castle appears on nidirect's approved civil ceremony venue list. Book the venue and confirm the district registrar's availability; venue approval alone does not reserve a legal ceremony.
A maritime-history wedding venue in the former Harland & Wolff headquarters and drawing offices. The hotel's heritage rooms and wedding packages suit couples wanting a Belfast celebration with accommodation on site.
Before you bookContact the wedding team for a date-specific package and a viewing. Ask which heritage room suits your ceremony, how catering and accommodation are included, and whether an on-site ceremony incurs an additional charge.
Licences & permissionsTitanic Hotel is listed by nidirect as an approved civil ceremony venue. Confirm the room and registrar separately. This listing is for the hotel, not the neighbouring Titanic Belfast attraction.
A palace wedding setting with the Orangery, historic state rooms and grounds. The official wedding offering includes licensed civil ceremonies and partnerships, dining options and support from an in-house coordinator after confirmation.
Before you bookRequest a proposal for the exact rooms and arrangements you need. Catering rules differ by room: outside caterers require approval, while the Orangery uses Blenheim catering. Agree photography access as part of your wedding arrangements.
Licences & permissionsWedding-related photography and videography are reserved for couples marrying at Blenheim. Ordinary visitor admission does not authorise a professional wedding or pre-wedding shoot in the palace, courtyards, gardens or grounds.
An unusual city wedding setting combining the ancient Roman Baths with elegant reception rooms. Bath Venues offers sunrise and evening ceremonies, small wedding options and larger celebrations around the historic complex.
Before you bookAsk Bath Venues about the ceremony and reception combination for your date, seasonal restrictions and museum opening hours. Some ceremony-only evening options are Sunday–Thursday; catering and room access should be confirmed in the proposal.
Licences & permissionsArrange the wedding through Bath Venues and confirm the registrar and exact ceremony space. Museum admission is separate from wedding hire and does not reserve exclusive access or permission for an event.

Before you bookSend the hotel an event enquiry for the date, ceremony space, reception and guest-room requirements. Its wedding planning route is separate from ordinary room booking; request a clear written quote for all selected services.
Licences & permissionsCamden Council lists the hotel as a ceremony venue. Registrar charges are separate from venue hire. Confirm both arrangements and ask the hotel about access to the Grand Staircase for photographs.

A wedding-car marketplace connecting couples with independent vehicle owners. Browse classic, vintage, modern and unusual cars, then request a quote based on the wedding date, locations and passenger requirements.
Before you bookProvide pickup addresses, ceremony and reception locations, passenger numbers, planned photo stops and the finish time. Compare the full itinerary and waiting time rather than just the headline hire price.
Licences & permissionsAn initial quote does not reserve a car. The platform says a booking is confirmed when the vehicle owner accepts and reserves the date; confirm insurance, access and cancellation terms.
Vintage London Routemaster buses for moving wedding guests between venues. RedRoutemaster offers private wedding hire with a quote process, providing a distinctive group-transport option for celebrations in and around London.
Before you bookAgree pickup stops, routes, passenger requirements, timing and any food or drink in advance. The operator says these heritage buses lack safe wheelchair boarding, so arrange suitable transport for guests who need to remain in a wheelchair.
Licences & permissionsRequest confirmation of the vehicle, route and stops. Specific buses depend on availability; venue access and stopping arrangements should be agreed before travel, and changes on the day are not guaranteed.
City Cruises — Thames wedding transfers and receptions
River Thames, London · England
Private Thames boat hire for wedding-party transfers, receptions and engagement celebrations. City Cruises can propose a vessel, route and catering options for couples travelling between London venues or celebrating on the water.
Before you bookRequest a tailored proposal with guest numbers, preferred piers and timings. Routes and pier use depend on tides and availability; accessibility varies by vessel, so discuss boarding requirements before selecting a boat.
Licences & permissionsThis is a transfer and reception enquiry, not confirmation of a legally recognised ceremony aboard a boat. Arrange the legal wedding separately unless the provider and registrar confirm an appropriate arrangement.
Wedding coach and minibus hire for guest travel between the ceremony, reception and evening celebration. Bakers Dolphin serves Bristol and the West Country, with its coach-hire team preparing quotes for the requested itinerary.
Before you bookSend pickup locations, passenger numbers, arrival deadlines and return journeys with the enquiry. Discuss coach size, luggage, accessibility, venue entrances and any decoration requests, then obtain the complete itinerary and price in writing.
Licences & permissionsThe online form requests a coach-hire quote and does not confirm a vehicle. Ask the operator and venues to agree access, safe pickup points and the final collection schedule.

Licences & permissionsA directory listing is not a reservation or an endorsement by UKTripDeals. Confirm each supplier's availability and terms directly, and check your venue's rules before commissioning outside catering or decorations.

Before you bookFilter suppliers by the location and service you need, then request comparable quotes. Check how enquiry and account features work, and agree deliverables, timings, cancellation terms and any venue requirements with the individual supplier.
